How we verify every tip

A tipping record is only worth the difficulty of faking it. This page describes exactly what BetSphere measures, how, and what a tipster can and cannot do about it - so that you can judge the method rather than trust a claim.

1. The publication time comes from our servers

When a tipster publishes, the time is recorded by BetSphere, not declared by them. That single fact rules out the oldest trick in tipping: announcing a selection after the match has started, or claiming a tip was posted earlier than it was. Every tip carries its publication time, publicly, for ever.

2. The odds are checked against licensed operators

For events in our official calendar, we record the odds offered by licensed operators and compare them with the odds the tipster declares. If the declared odds are more than 15 % away from the market, publication is refused. Within that margin, the tip is marked « verified odds » and keeps the market price alongside it. A tipster cannot inflate a past win by quoting a price nobody could have taken.

We also keep the closing odds - the last price recorded before kick-off. Comparing the price taken with the closing price is the most honest measure of a tipster’s edge, because it says whether the market moved towards them or against them. It appears in their advanced statistics.

3. Corrections are possible for one hour, and never after kick-off

Mistakes happen: a digit typed wrong, a market suspended. A tipster can edit or withdraw a tip for sixty minutes after publishing it, and the window closes immediately when the event starts. Past that point, selection, odds, operator and time are frozen. Only the written analysis stays editable, because a clearer explanation harms nobody.

4. The result comes from the league, not from the tipster

Settlement uses official scores. Match result, double chance and total goals are settled automatically; other markets are settled by hand against the official record, and each settlement is logged. A postponed or abandoned event makes the tip void: neither won nor lost, and excluded from every statistic - counting it either way would be arbitrary.

5. Nothing is ever deleted

There is no feature, anywhere in BetSphere, that removes a settled tip. Not for the tipster, not for support, not for us. A losing tip counts in the hit rate forever. Tips reserved for subscribers become public once settled, with their selection: a paid record is as auditable as a free one, otherwise the paid part could hide anything.

6. Every figure is computed, never entered

Hit rate, ROI, average odds, streaks, drawdown, badges, ranking position: all are derived from settled tips at the moment you load the page. A tipster has no field anywhere in which to type a performance figure. The hit rate appears only from three settled tips, and the ranking requires twenty over ninety days, because a figure computed on a handful of tips says nothing - we show the 95 % margin of error for the same reason.

What this method cannot do

It cannot tell you whether a tipster will be right tomorrow. A verified record is evidence about the past and nothing else; a long run of wins can be luck, and a good method can lose for months. It cannot check a tip on a competition we do not cover, where odds stay « declared ». And it cannot stop someone from being wrong sincerely.

What it does do is remove the ability to lie about the past - which is the only thing that separates a tipster worth reading from a salesman.
